China accounts for four of the world's five largest container ports!  Hong Kong media: From containers to supply chains, the world is inseparable from China's shipping

South China Morning Post, November 10, original title: Chinese shipping -- from container monopoly to key role in global supply chain?  In 2020, $2.5 trillion worth of goods were imported and exported to China by sea, more than air, rail and road transport combined.  More than 85% of 

goods in international trade are also transported by sea.  


In terms of seaborne trade cargo capacity, China ranked third globally in terms of number of ships and gross deadweight tonnage in 2020,

behind Greece and Japan, according to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.  China has more than 400 ports on inland 

rivers and coastlines, four of the world's top five container ports and seven of its top 10.
